VR Post Production

Virtual reality and augmented reality (VR/AR) revenues are projected to hit $150 billion by 2020! This event will cover the latest live action VR post production techniques to realize the dream of VR. All attendees must RSVP through VES' page.

Description

Revenues from virtual reality and augmented reality are projected to hit $150 billion by 2020!  Visual effects artists are on the front lines to deliver that immersive content.  These presentations will cover the latest live action VR post production techniques which are currently being used to realize the dream of VR.

All attendees must register through VES' page. Space is limited.

Mariana Acuña Acosta, will describe the latest tools that The Foundry is releasing to support VR pipelines.

Gawain Lilliard and his team, will present the tools and techniques they used to deliver the Google Spotlight live action VR project Help, directed Justin Lin, of Fast and Furious fame.

Jason Schugardt, Head of CG/VFX Supervisor with MPC LA will share the tools and techniques used to create the live action/CG VR adventure, “Goosebumps”.  Goosebumps VR is a stereoscopic special venue experience that premiered in conjunction with Sony’s feature film in select theater lobbies.

Registration

LA ACM SIGGRAPH and VES Members are admitted free. Membership will be checked against the current membership roster. No membership card is necessary for LA ACM SIGGRAPH members. LA ACM SIGGRAPH will have a table at the event for attendees to join LA SIGGRAPH (and thus get in as part of their new membership). Memberships will be accepted for $40/person. The chapter accepts checks, cash, or credit cards (Mastercard or Visa only) for all dues or fees. Students may attend for $10. All other non-members ($20 fee). All attendees must RSVP through VES' page. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. If the event is overbooked and paid registered guests cannot be seated, refunds will be issued.
