SIGGRAPH: West Coast Chapters Regional Meetup, IN-PERSON, Wednesday, July 22; 1:pm - 2:pm PDT, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Room 404 AB. Come and meet the members of Los Angeles;, Silicon Valley, San Francisco, and Vancouver Professional Chapters. Student Chapters, and Student Volunteers are welcome to come meet us all. We will introduce the Chapters, and speak about Producing educational meetings and real-time events. Student Volunteers welcome. Rendering Reality: When Big Data Simulations Meet Hollywood VFX, February 9, 2027, IN-PERSON - LA ACM SIGGRAPH & the Visual Effects Society Presents...An in-depth exploration of the bridge between scientific visualization and cinematic storytelling. This event will decode the process of taking raw, observational datasets and large-scale simulations — data originally meant for laboratories and research centers — and engineering them for the silver screen.
